Product overview

Two switching tiers. Pay for the intelligence your network needs.

The SwitchNX Series splits into unmanaged and managed tiers, so a wiring closet and a campus core use the same hardware family without paying core-layer prices at the edge.

Smart network management

Web GUI, CLI, SNMP, and Zero-Touch Provisioning for low-touch rollout.

Why one family

Because a mixed switch estate should not be this hard.

Buying switches brand-by-brand leaves you with mismatched CLIs, inconsistent PoE behaviour, and no single place to see the network. One family fixes that.

Mixed switch estateSTATUS QUO

Four brands. Four CLIs. No single view.

01 · Access

Desktop switches from whoever was cheapest that quarter, each configured by hand.

02 · PoE

Cameras drop and nobody can reboot the port remotely. A technician drives out.

03 · Core

Aggregation is a different vendor again, so troubleshooting spans three support desks.

With SwitchNXONE FAMILY

One family. One config model. Every layer.

01 · Access

Unmanaged 4 to 24-port models plug in and switch. No console, no config.

02 · PoE

Per-port scheduling and a PoE watchdog reboot hung cameras and APs remotely.

03 · Core

Managed L3 models aggregate the campus with 10G SFP+ on the same platform.

Outcome

One CLI, one console, and one vendor from the wiring closet to the core.

Features & specifications

The detail your network architects will ask for

Managed models carry the full feature set. Unmanaged models cover the plug-and-play essentials. Pick a category to explore.

Management

Provision once, run it remotely.

Deploy with zero-touch, administer from a browser or terminal, feed the monitoring stack you already run.

  • Intuitive Web GUI for day-to-day administration
  • Full CLI via console, SSH, and Telnet
  • SNMP v1/v2c/v3 for third-party monitoring
  • Zero-Touch Provisioning for remote deployment
  • Config backup, restore, and firmware upgrade

Lock the LAN down at the port.

Stop rogue devices and spoofed traffic before they reach anything that matters.

  • Port security with MAC binding and limiting
  • DHCP snooping to block rogue DHCP servers
  • Access Control Lists: MAC, IP, and port-based
  • IP-MAC-Port binding (source guard)
  • Private VLAN / port isolation for guest and BYOD

Line-rate forwarding with the redundancy to stay up under failure.

  • Non-blocking architecture for line-rate forwarding
  • Low-latency, wire-speed packet forwarding
  • STP / RSTP / MSTP and VRRP
  • Redundant power input on select Layer 3 models

Managed vs unmanaged

What each tier includes

Unmanaged switches cover the plug-and-play essentials. Managed switches add the intelligence. Here is where the line sits, so you spec the right tier per layer.

✓ Both tiers01 / 06

Gigabit switching

Wire-speed forwarding and PoE on relevant models across both unmanaged and managed.

✓ Both tiers02 / 06

PoE / PoE+ power

Power IP cameras, APs, and phones over a single cable on PoE-equipped models.

Managed only03 / 06

VLANs & L2/L3 routing

Segmentation, inter-VLAN routing, and dynamic routing are managed-tier features.

Managed only04 / 06

Security controls

802.1X, ACLs, DHCP snooping, and port isolation require a managed switch.

Managed only05 / 06

Central management

Web GUI, CLI, SNMP, and ZTP are available on the managed tier.

Managed only06 / 06

QoS & traffic control

Priority queues, rate limiting, and storm control need managed switching.

FAQs

Questions network teams ask before they spec.

What is the difference between the managed and unmanaged models?
Unmanaged models (the "U" series) are plug-and-play. Connect them and they switch traffic with no configuration. Managed models (the "M" series) add VLANs, QoS, Layer 2 / Layer 3 routing, security controls, and central monitoring for networks that need control over how traffic moves.
How many devices can I power over PoE?
PoE models supply up to 30W per port and support 802.3af, 802.3at, and 802.3bt across relevant models. That covers IP cameras, wireless access points, IP phones, IoT sensors, and access control over a single Ethernet cable. Per-port scheduling and a PoE watchdog handle remote reboots and automatic recovery.
Do the switches support 10G uplinks?
Yes. The series offers Gigabit Ethernet, SFP, and 10G SFP+ uplinks depending on the model, so you can build access, aggregation, and core layers on the same hardware family.
Can SwitchNX work alongside Nirad SD-WAN?
Yes. SwitchNX handles the LAN layer while Nirad SD-WAN handles the WAN edge. Running both from one vendor gives you a single point of accountability across your network rather than splitting responsibility between switching and WAN suppliers.
What deployment environments are the switches built for?
Rugged metal chassis support desktop, wall-mount, and rackmount installation. Select models offer fanless silent operation and a wide operating temperature range for spaces that are not climate-controlled, along with Green Ethernet for lower power draw at idle.
