The primary objective of this case study is to demonstrate how a large system integrator successfully achieved 99.9% assurance of zero downtime in outdoor connectivity for a critical data transmission application. The project aimed to connect RFID readers to Nirad devices, enabling the seamless and continuous push of data to a central server. The key requirement was to establish a stable connection (uptime) for two RFID readers, ensuring uninterrupted data transmission even in challenging outdoor environments.
Robust Outdoor Design:
The Nirad N100-O was specifically designed for outdoor applications, featuring rugged enclosures and an IP66 waterproof case that could withstand harsh weather conditions, dust, and moisture, ensuring reliable operation in challenging outdoor environments.
With 4G LTE capabilities and high gain omni-directional cellular antennas, the router provided high-speed data transmission, ensuring efficient and timely data delivery from the RFID readers to the central server.
Built-in PoE (Power over Ethernet):
The inclusion of Power over Ethernet (PoE) support simplified the installation process, allowing power and data to be transmitted over a single Ethernet cable, reducing cable clutter and providing flexibility in device placement.
NIRAD Cloud Management Compatibility:
The Nirad N100-O router was is compatible with the NIRAD cloud management software out of the box. This feature facilitated easy remote management, monitoring, and configuration of the devices, streamlining maintenance and providing real-time insights into the network performance.
